Imura art gallery first opend its door in Kyoto, Japan in 1990 as the contemporary art space in the city. Kyoto in famous for tourism and for over 1200 years, the city has been a centre of Japanese culture introducing a wide range of art works, traditional to contenporary. Situated in such an attractive city, for over twenty years, our art gallery has gained reputation as a contemporary art gallery by representing and exhibiting some of the most interesting art works which is somewhere following the traditional technique, both on the international and national stage. We hace introduced some yong and emerging artists on the scene such as, Aya Kawato and Masaomi Raku and also some experienced artists such as, Sadaharu Horio and Hideki Kimura. Some of the artists we represent have also been very active global art scene. Taro Yamamoto and Satoshi Someya exhibited at the Honolulu Museum of Art, Hawaii in 2016 and Natsunosuke Mise attended the group show at Yinchuan Museum of Contemporary Art, China in 2017 and also show his works at Wifredo Lam Centre of Contemporary Art, Cuba in 2018. Masaharu Sato held a solo show at Firstdraft gallery, Sydney in 2017.
