Situated in the heart of Tokyo, A Lighthouse called Kanata was founded in 1993 to introduce contemporary Japanese art and aesthetics to a global audience. Focusing on contemporary sculpture and painting, our artists represent a movement in Japanese aesthetics wherein beauty and technique take precedence over sheer conceptualism and fabrication. One of the most internationally active galleries in Japan, Kanata exhibits at global fairs such as TEFAF Maastricht, TEFAF New York Spring, Masterpiece London, West Bund Art & Design (Shanghai), etc, while holding approx. 6 exhibitions a year at our new Tokyo gallery space in Nishi-Azabu.
