The Sogetsu Gallery is located in the Sogetsu Kaikan (HQ Building) overlooking the rich greenery of Akasaka Palace in the heart of Tokyo. It is headed by Akane Teshigahara, the fourth Iemoto of the Sogetsu School of Ikebana. The gallery members are involved in a wide range of activities with the aim of “enriching all the spaces with ikebana,” making the most of the aesthetic sense and techniques of the Sogetsu School which has revolutionized the traditional culture of ikebana. We decided to take part in this exhibition hoping that the viewers will enjoy our ikebana art work in a safe and secure way under the current Coronavirus situation. Our work is mainly of natural materials including dried plants and stones. We will be more than happy if you feel something of hidden potential of ikebana.
