About this event

Kids’ Workshop “Let’s make wood block figures!” by “Artist for a Day” (Morning time)

Artist: Kenichi Obana
For: Child (Age 4 up to 13)

A children’s art workshop led by NPO Ichijihaku, which means “Artist for a Day”.

This group was created after the Tohoku Earthquake, in order to help children who had less opportunities to encounter art after the disaster. They enabled children who were least able to encounter art to spend time with art and artists in various locations around the region.

At ART FAIR TOKYO 2017, Kenichi Obana, whose main media is wood carving and painting, will collaborate with Ichijihaku for the first time! Children will use things like stickers and scissors to create their own wooden man (bokujin) out of wooden blocks. The children will see what happens when they let their creativity loose.
