Three locations around the city will act as satellite venues for AFT2019, making March in Tokyo a time when art brings color to the city. The locations for AFT2019 Satellite Events will be: the gallery and art museum-filled Roppongi; Tennozu, known for art and waterfront views; and Haneda Airport, Japan’s gate to the sky. The Tennozu and Haneda Airport shows will be open ahead of AFT2019, from March 5 (Tuesday).
There will be two exhibitions in the public space inside the AFT2019 venue (Tokyo International Forum, Yurakucho): Future Artists Tokyo with art by students of Japan’s art universities, and World Art Tokyo, featuring work by artists from a variety of countries who have been selected in cooperation with the embassies of those countries. These collaborative exhibitions are made with the goal of providing a platform in Japan for the artists of the next generation.
(These works will not be made available for sale, nor are they shown in connection with any galleries)
