"Nokogiri" is a gallery opened in Sarugaku-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo in April 2022 by Tonkachi Ltd., (Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Yukari Hiruma). It mainly deals with works by contemporary ceramic artists.
Tonkachi has collaborated with various artists to produce commercial products, but this gallery is distinct from that. It aims to show a contemporary and POP extension of ceramic expression. Openness in all directions. Harmony and antagonism between humans and non-human entities such as animals and plants is implied. That it presents a place to which we can return. With these as keys, the exhibition is curated mainly by international artists.
