Gallery 38 was founded in Tokyo in 2016. Since its inaugural exhibition of works by ceramic artist Eiji Uematsu, the gallery has pursued dual aims: to introduce emerging and established international artists to Japan—including Hartmut Landauer, Oliver Marsden, Christiane Pooley, Stephanie Quayle, Hinako Miyabayashi, Miyu Hosoi—and to discover and promote emerging and historically significant Japanese artists abroad.
