biscuit gallery is a commercial gallery that opened in March of 2021 in Shoto, Shibuya, Tokyo. The gallery occupies a single building on Shoto Bunkamura Street, and consists of three floors, from the first to the third floor. It is the first art museum or gallery in Japan to introduce a new generation lighting system, and is designed to accommodate a variety of exhibition methods, including two-dimensional, three-dimensional, video, and installation. The exhibition floor, which covers a total of over 100 square meters, is used for a variety of purposes, including simultaneous solo exhibitions by multiple artists, talk events by artists and critics, and roundtable discussions by art collectors. Other facilities in the building include a storage room for storing a large number of artworks and a place for artists to stay and work, thus supporting the activities of young artists. The gallery's director, Mahiro Kobayashi , is also a art collector of contemporary art, and hosts the art information website Bur@rt, which provides information on young contemporary artists. The biscuit gallery will feature young artists from Japan and abroad, with a focus on the artists he has approached so far.
