We YUGEN Gallery focuses on contemporary art, showcasing a diverse range of artists who pursue their own unique forms of expression. In last September, we opened our second location in Fukuoka, expanding our presence across both Tokyo and Fukuoka to build a platform rooted in regional and cultural diversity.
In recent months, we have continued to highlight emerging and mid-career Japanese artists through regular exhibitions, while also embracing global perspectives—such as hosting a group show featuring a prominent Korean art collective. Additionally, the ARTSHODO exhibition, which explores innovative approaches that transcend traditional notions of calligraphy, has garnered widespread attention as an art historically significant initiative, drawing visits from art professionals and academics alike.
We also engage with socially conscious themes. Notable examples include a group exhibition on the theme of peace in collaboration with Tamentai Gallery in Hiroshima, as well as a photography exhibition by Mikio Hasui, documenting ceramics by a Living National Treasure that were damaged in the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
And we continue to participate in major art fairs and have rapidly gained recognition. Since our debut, we have seen remarkable growth—doubling our sales at our second appearance. Now in just our third year, we are steadily solidifying our presence in both the domestic and international art scenes.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to expanding the potential of contemporary art through both creative innovation and meaningful engagement with the art market.
